Special package details
Botswana Safari - 2 Day - 2 Night
On this safari, one gets the opportunity to get very close to the fantastic birdlife, hippos, crocodiles and, of course, scores of elephant and Cape buffalo making their way down to the river to quench their thirst.
During the night, in the private camp, guests experience the night sounds and smells of the African bush; sometimes one can hear the wildlife passing by the tent!
The tour itinerary is as follows:
Day 1: Guests will be met at Kazungula by their guide at 8:30 am and escorted through immigration formalities. There is an opportunity to do any last minute shopping in Kaasane, as there are no shops within the park. A short briefing will follow on safety and some regional information.
At 9.30 am, guests board the boat and commence a 3-hour boat cruise into the Chobe National Park. The river cruise is considered one of the highlights of the trip as one gets the opportunity to see most of the animals. The boat cruise ends at White Sands at 12.30 pm and the safari guide will be waiting to do a game drive to the wilderness campsite for lunch.
After a hearty lunch and settling into tents, guests will have tea and depart for an afternoon game drive - this is the best time to see Chobe's large herbivores making their way down to the river for a drink of water. The group returns to the camp shortly after sunset for drinks around the campfire and dinner.
Day 2: Guests are woken at dawn with warm water being poured into basins and a friendly Botswana dumela (good day!) greeting. After a quick cup of tea or coffee and cereal, guests head off on an early morning game drive. This is the best time to spot big cats. Around mid to late morning, guests return to the camp for a delicious bush brunch and siesta.
When the day starts to cool off another afternoon game drive follows tea and good sightings are revisited or areas as yet unexplored are visited. Chobe National Park has a wide variety of game - the cats and large herbivores such as elephant and buffalo aside, there are also some rare game such as puku and the roan antelope.
The group returns to the camp after sunset for a reflective fireside chat. Dinner follows, as always accompanied by the unforgettable sounds of the African night.
Day 3: After another dumela dawn awakening and breakfast, guests leave the national park. This last drive
could prove to be the best and will with the others remain etched in the memory of the participants as a truly great African experience.
Guests are dropped off at Kasane, Kazungula at 8.30 am.
