With some luck, one can also spot a lion, leopard, wild dog and other game.

The tour is run by licensed professional guides.

Location - Duration
  • Duration: 3 day(s)
  • Location: Kazungula, Kasane, Chobe
Itinerary

The tour itinerary is as follows:

Day 1: Guests will be met  at Kazungula by their guide at 8:30 am and escorted through immigration formalities. There is an opportunity to do any last minute shopping in Kasane, as there are no shops within the park. A short briefing will follow on safety and some regional information.

At 9.30 am, guests board the boat and commence a 3-hour boat cruise into the Chobe National Park. The river cruise is considered one of the highlights of the trip as one gets the opportunity to see most of the animals. The boat cruise ends at White Sands at 12.30 pm and the safari guide will be waiting to do a game drive to the wilderness campsite for lunch.

After a hearty lunch and settling into tents, guests will have tea and depart for an afternoon game drive - this is the best time to see Chobe's large herbivores making their way down to the river for a drink of water. The group returns to the camp shortly after sunset for drinks around the campfire and dinner.

Day 2: Guests are woken at dawn with warm water being poured into basins and a friendly Botswana dumela (good day!) greeting. After a quick cup of tea or coffee and cereal, guests head off on an early morning game drive. This is the best time to spot big cats. Around mid to late morning, guests return to the camp for a delicious bush brunch and siesta. When the day starts to cool off another afternoon game drive follows tea and good sightings are revisited or areas as yet unexplored are visited. Chobe National Park has a wide variety of game - the cats and large herbivores such as elephant and buffalo aside, there are also some rare game such as puku and the roan antelope.

The group returns to the camp after sunset for a reflective fireside chat. Dinner follows, as always accompanied by the unforgettable sounds of the African night.

Day 3: After another dumela dawn awakening followed by tea or coffee and some cereal, guests head off on an early morning game drive. This is the best time to spot the big cats. Around mid to late morning, guests return to the camp for a delicious bush brunch and an opportunity to take a refreshing shower. After packing up, they leave the camp and are dropped off at Kasane, Kazungula at 4.30 pm.

Welcome to Livingstone, Zambia!

Livingstone hotels team

Karien manages the office of Wild Side Tours, which was started in 1992 in Livingstone, Zambia assisted by Lillian. From the day we started, we have introduced several people to Livingstone, many of them coming back for more, because the stay is always too short. Besides Victoria Falls, there are many other interesting places here. You will find Livingstone fascinating, with very friendly, smiling people. It's also safe, full of tradition and culture, and a historical centre of early day Livingstone. The tourist facilities are of high standards.
