Rafting Full Day High Water
The Zambezi River is classified as a high volume, pool-drop river, i.e., there is little exposed rock either in the rapids or the pools below the rapids. The distance between rapids varies from 100 m to 2 km. The gorge itself is approximately 400 feet deep at the put-in point and 750 feet at the take out point and drops about 400 feet over the 24 km covered in the trip.
During low water, guests can do a full or half day trip. At the end of a full day or a half day PM trip, there is a lift out of the gorge.
The tour is inclusive of meals and drinks for the day.
Guests are welcome to do rafting ‘combos', such as raft and cruise combo, raft and jet boat combo, raft and heli out of gorge. Riverboarding is also available.
The itinerary for the full day (high water) trip is as follows:
- 0.00 am guests are picked up from Livingstone accommodation
- meet at Zambezi Waterfront for tea or coffee and safety briefing; depart from Waterfront at about 9 am to starting point (normally rapid # 10, depending on water levels)
- at the end of the trip, guests will get a lift out of the gorge at rapid # 23 where the truck will be waiting with Some refreshing cold soft drinks and bottled water to take them back to Zambezi Waterfront
