Sioma Camp Ltd

Sioma River Camp is situated in Zambia's Western Province, about 320 km from Livingstone and Victoria Falls, and about halfway between Sesheke and Senanga. The distance from the Namibian border at Katima Mulilo is approximately 115 km and from the Botswana border at Kazungula approximately 250 km. The distance to Lusaka is about 820 km.

If you are coming from Sesheke/Katima Mulilo, then take the Senanga/Mongu Road. After 114 km on a fairly bad gravel/sandy road, you will reach the checkpoint that marks the border between Sesheke and Shangombo districts. After 1 km, turn right towards the river. Sioma River Camp is just 500 meter down the road.

If you are coming from the Lusaka, then, near Mongu, take the road to your left towards Senanga. You will reach Senanga after approximately 120 km. The tarmac road has some bad stretches - approximately 25 km are under repair. From Senanga, drive approximately 20 km till you reach the pontoon at Kalongola. The normal fare (as of August 2008) is Kwacha 40 per vehicle; it is open from 6 am to 6 pm. From the pontoon, it is about 65 km to Sioma Camp.
