Sussi & Chuma

Sussi and Chuma are two separate properties and, despite their close proximity, are entirely self-contained and privately situated along the bank of the Zambezi River, about 10 km upstream from Victoria Falls.

Sharing a setting in a natural inlet within the Mosi - Oa - Tunya National Park, they overlook a series of rapids and islands frequented by Vervet monkeys and elephants. The suites each have a large bedroom with a walk-in mosquito net, bar fridge, overhead fan and a spectacular bathroom and deck overlooking the river. They are connected to the main reception area by a series of boardwalks, which are several metres above the ground. This makes getting about easier - especially at night when hippos and elephants move through the unfenced property on their way to and from the river. Despite the safe boardwalks, it's a heart-stopping experience walking over creaking planks with hippos and elephants grazing below. It's entirely made from natural materials with a thatched roof, wooden decks and a pool that mirrors the colour of the river.

Sussi consists of 12 luxury tree houses, built into the living canopy of majestic ebony trees lining the banks of the Zambezi River. Each tree has a private view of the Zambezi from its own deck among the branches. Its elegant staircase winds in great sweeps from the pool to the dining area.

Chuma house has all the conveniences of a home, including a kitchen and its own private swimming pool. It offers two ensuite bedrooms - one double room with a bath and an outdoor shower and one twin room with a bath and indoor shower, a spacious lounge and dining area, outdoor deck and a barbeque area. Guests have their own private chef to cook all meals, and a private guide, vehicle and boat for all activities.
