Livingstone Accommodation Waterberry Zambezi Lodge Sustainability

Gail Kleinschmidt and Conor Crowley

Gail is a Zambian by birth. She grew up here and has spent much time travelling around the various areas of this country. She has worked in bush camps and Safari lodges in Zambia and has a meticulous attention for detail. She has a very good understanding of life in Africa and welcomes those who wish to spend time in it, seeping up its goodness and enjoying all that it has to offer.

Conor has travelled the planet and is a recent convert to Africa and Zambia. Like Gail, he adores being on the banks of the Zambezi. Sitting around a fire chatting about adventures and travels is his passion. With his strong background in the hospitality industry (having been a hotelier of many years), his knowledge of running a hotel and lodge is vast. He, like Gail, wants the visiting client to go away with the best experience of all things Zambian.

The village benefits from donations given each time clients visit the community, which is part of an exclusive activity.

The lodge uses energy-saving bulbs; they make their own compost and grow their own vegetables and herbs.

The lodge hosts Peace Parks, which focuses on conservation and creating easier cross-border migration for elephants, amongst many other related projects.
