Although we love every activity we did, the canoeing will probably get our lower marks. Although to some it may seem obvious we did not know we would get wet while rowing. I was concerned about our cameras the whole trip making it difficult to enjoy the scenery.

Great staff, informative and friendly for a really gentle canoeing session enjoying the delights of the Zambezi river
While we enjoyed our cycle tour, the standard of the bikes was not good. We had trouble with the gears, a puncture required a change of bike and one bike had rear brakes that did not work. The guide (Prince) was very good though.
Apart from the cost, this was a magical day. And when we saw all that the day involved - the number of guides and extra safety personnel on hand, the porters required, etc, etc, we could understand where the price came from. The camp was great, with good, clean facilities for start and finish of the rafting, and the pizza at the end was delicious and there was even too much for us to eat! We will never forget this day.

Safpar staff seemed to have a poor attitude from the very start of the day and were curt with the guests for most of the day. There was also poor communication on the itinerary, during unanticipated (?) delays, returning late, where to go, when we could eat, when we could get our valuables back. The offroad driving back from the gorge was unsafe and people were hit (some in the face) by branches that the driver was running into without warning. We weren't even told that there was, let alone offered any, water during the whole rafting time.
The guides did handle themselves well on the water and clearly are experienced rivermen, but all the other negatives of the day made it difficult to enjoy the experience. They need some training on interpersonal skills, communication, and dealing with people more positively. The safety in the driving vehicle should also be addressed before someone is seriously hurt.
I have been on many white water trips and I can honestly say - the Zambezi River is truly excellent; the Safpar experience not so much.
