Livingstone Island is a 5 - 8 minutes boat ride from the Royal Livingstone Hotel and is located in the middle of the Zambezi River, touching the lip of the Victoria Falls, where the water thunders down. Access to this unique Island is seasonal and depends entirely on the water level in the Zambezi River.
Due to the unique nature of the island only 22 guests may visit at any one time and enjoy.
Drop off at the Royal Livingstone Hotel. The pick up point is the Sun deck, 5-10 minutes before the activity.
A speedboat - twin engine 10 seater takes you across the river to the Livingstone Island.
While on the Island you will be given a tour of the Falls where you will see the Zambian side and the main falls which are partly on the Zimbabwean side. An expert guide will explain the history and the geology of the Victoria Falls..
When the water is very low in the Zambezi, usually between August and January, there is a possibility to swim in a natural rock pool at the edge of the falls. Towels are provided.
Drinks will be served during the High Tea. These include Wine (Red/White), Beer, Gin, Port, and Soft drinks. Guests will then be dropped off at the Royal Livingstone by speed boat.
